Gerard Butler Spends New Year In Rishikesh

These are the changing times when Hollywood travels all the way to India to spend New Years in the lap of nature and practice the art of Yoga in the midst of mountain air! That’s right, one of the biggest names in the Hollywood industry, Gerard Butler spends his new year in Rishikesh for a spiritual retreat and absolute zen. He was ‘all smiles’ to ring in the new year with a bit of Indian adventure on his plate to start off the new decade.

Gerard Butler’s Message On Instagram

Butler took to Instagram on January 1, where he shared a picture from his trip performing Surya Namaskar along with a short and sweet message saying, ‘Let your shine into the new decade. Sending you all love. Happy New Year from the Himalayas.’

Looking at the pictures, he was accompanied by his rumored girlfriend Morgan Brown and industrialist and fitness enthusiast, Yash Birla who also shared his moments from his meeting with the Hollywood star.

Several fan pages of Gerard Butler also posted a couple of pictures of him exploring the Himalayas and the spiritual towns of the country that have surfaced online.

Gerard Butler’s Little Indian Adventure

The Hollywood star celebrated his new year exploring the quaint Indian towns and seeking spirituality, peace, light, zen and positivity. During his 3 day stay, he was all touristy and was seen exploring the ghats and visiting several ashrams practicing the art of yoga, especially Surya Namaskar for a spiritual retreat.

Gerard Butler also visited the yoga retreat in Varanasi where he shared his previous travel experiences of Varanasi with Avinav Peshwani, a hotelier and also a member of the Aghor Foundation. He spent a lot of time at the Aghor Foundation ashram and with the children staying there. Further, he was seen exploring the holy city, interacting with the locals and taking a dip in the holy water of the river Ganga. Later, Gerard and Morgan traveled to Rishikesh to ring in the new year amidst the Himalayas.
